His Story

Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati, born in 1901 in Turin Italy, was a devout Catholic known for his extraordinary compassion and love for the poor. Despite coming from an affluent family, he dedicated his life to social justice and charitable works. A member of both the Catholic Youth Federation and the Third Order of Saint Dominic, Pier Giorgio passionately lived out his faith through service to the marginalized. His love for outdoor activities, including mountain climbing and hiking, was intertwined with his spirituality. A phrase that he is well known for is "Verso L'alto!"  translating to "to the heights!" This phrase not only represents his outlook on life, but also helps vocalize the sense of commitment towards Catholic living that many Catholic Young Adults feel. Pier Giorgio passed away at the young age of 24, but his legacy endures as a model for Young Catholics everywhere.
